During my tenure at the University of Mississippi, it was an incredible, rewarding experience to serve as the student chapter president of the Society of Professional Journalists. With faith in my goals for SPJ and support from my adviser, my one and a half year work as president led to a strong, active and respected campus organization that has seen extensive growth in membership and involvement.My time with SPJ allowed me to not only further enhance my writing skills, but also my leadership, research, design and organization skills. In this section of my portfolio you will find examples of the different types of programs and speaker events I developed and implemented for SPJ.
